My first career was as an Early Childhood teacher. I have a Bachelor’s Degree from Brooklyn College and a Masters Degree in Special Education from the College of Staten Island. I graduated from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in 2004 and became certified as a health coach by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners.

As an Early Childhood teacher I worked with children with developmental delays and learning disabilities. Creating plans particular to their learning needs and personalities was the most exciting aspect of this work. As a health coach I use the same approach when working with my clients.

As my children grew and my family’s location changed, so did my work. I spent time in sales with Optical Data, an innovative educational materials company. I spent several years as a volunteer with Ending Hunger Now. I loved providing what was needed for individuals to become self sufficient. I later would realize that we all experience many kinds of hunger-not just lack of food and that we are all healthier when we are nourishing all aspects of ourselves.

At 40 years of age, I embarked on my personal journey towards health which has led me to health coaching . While I am grateful for the benefits of modern medicine, I value the wisdom of natural means to avoid medicinal side effects whenever possible. After experiencing the benefits of Polarity Therapy, I trained and became a Polarity Practitioner. I was successful in lowering my high blood pressure and cholesterol with food and exercise. I also came to recognize the tremendous effect sugar consumption had on my energy and clarity of thinking. With all this knowledge under my belt, menopause was a breeze.

Health coaching has allowed me to combine my many skills. I get to share my excitement about the huge difference that small changes in food and lifestyle can make. I work with people honoring their strengths and individuality. As a keen listener, I assist in identifying goals and suggest easy, enjoyable ways that enable the client to achieve them. As they get healthier, they often have more energy, are more productive, handle stress effectively and achieve a higher level of balance in all aspects of their lives. I find this produces a ripple effect at work and at home.

In May 2006 I celebrated my 60th birthday. I am happier and healthier than I have ever been. I live in Westfield, New Jersey (via Manhattan, Brooklyn and Staten Island) with my husband of 37 years, my niece (who joined our family when both her parents had passed on) and our 2 dogs. I love the work I do with clients. I am honored when individuals allow me to work with them as they unearth what is truly nourishing for them on all levels so that they too can live lives they couldn’t have imagined. When I’m not counseling, I enjoy traveling with friends and family, spending lots of time with my grandchildren, knitting, yoga, cooking and movies.
